Window Replacement
Across New York City
From the First Visit to
the Last Caulk Line
Kenemax replaces windows in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx. We do not manufacture windows. We survey the building, specify the product, prepare shop drawings with most jobs and the filings when the job needs them, and install with our own crews. The same people who survey your windows see the job through.
We visit and measure when the job calls for it. The same people who survey your windows see the job through.
A written proposal lists each window by opening, with the maker, the glass, the finish and the scope.
When the job needs them, we prepare and manage the Master Plan Permit and the Landmarks Preservation Commission application.
Shop drawings with most jobs, approved before anything is ordered.
We order when the proposal is signed and the approvals and drawings are in place.
Our own crews install room by room and restore each opening before moving to the next.
Every window is opened, closed and checked before we leave the floor.
Windows Specified
to Your Building
We don't sell windows off a shelf. Every product is specified for the project, in wood, aluminum, fiberglass, composite, vinyl or steel.
The classic NYC window, standard in prewar apartments, brownstones, and co-ops. Both sashes slide vertically.
European-style tilt-and-turn operation: tilt inward for ventilation, or swing fully open.
Horizontal sliding operation, suited to contemporary interiors, high-rises, and spaces where vertical clearance is limited.
Non-operable fixed panes that maximize natural light, frame views, or meet structural requirements.
As an installer, not a manufacturer, we source the right product for each project rather than pushing a single brand. We choose the window for the building and the budget: Crystal Windows and CT International for aluminum and vinyl, Intus for uPVC, Marvin for high-end wood, Parrett and Norwood for custom wood, Optimum for steel, Arcadia and Universal for custom aluminum, Tischler und Sohn for custom wood and bronze, Velux for roof windows and skylights, and others for particular conditions.
The Buildings
We Work In
From a single apartment to a 200-unit building, we install in new construction, historic buildings, occupied renovations and single-family homes.
A co-op with 38 apartments on 15 floors. We replaced 298 windows, apartment by apartment, and the building stayed occupied throughout.

Handled by Us
Our in-house engineering team produces shop drawings and coordinates PE stamping when the job needs it.
We prepare and manage the Master Plan Permit and the street and sidewalk permits when the job needs them. For most standard replacement jobs neither is required, and we know after our first call and site survey.
A window replacement in a landmark or historic district needs Landmarks Preservation Commission approval before a single sash is removed. We prepare and track it.
Most jobs get shop drawings before anything is ordered. Errors caught at this stage are easy to fix; errors caught in the field are expensive.

Questions
What happens after I reach out to Kenemax?
We follow up within one business day to discuss your project and schedule a site visit. During the visit we assess existing conditions, take field measurements, and gather what we need to prepare an accurate proposal.
How long does a typical installation take?
A single-apartment replacement is usually done in one day. Multi-unit and full-building projects are scheduled in phases coordinated around building occupancy, elevator access, and any required permits.
Do I need to leave during installation?
In most cases no. Our crews work room by room and restore each opening before moving to the next.
What is the difference between a replacement window and a new construction (brick-to-brick) window?
A replacement window fits into an existing frame opening without disturbing surrounding masonry or trim, the standard approach for occupied renovations. A new construction (brick-to-brick) window is installed from the full masonry opening, used in new builds or gut renovations where finishes are being completely redone.
Do you work year-round?
Yes. We work year-round in New York City. Exterior work may pause during extreme rain or high wind for safety, but cold-weather installation is standard practice in NYC.
