151 Baltic Street, Cobble Hill: Historic Window Replacement
Modern performance within a historic architectural framework.

Originally constructed in the late 19th century, 151 Baltic Street is part of the architectural fabric of Brooklyn’s Cobble Hill neighborhood.
Our scope involved a comprehensive window replacement, incorporating two distinct systems selected around the building’s architectural character, exterior conditions, and preservation requirements.
For the historic street-facing façade, we supplied and installed Pella Architect Series wood-clad double-hung and casement windows, featuring custom wood exterior casings and an LPC-approved Benjamin Moore green finish.
For the additional elevations, Crystal Series 2000A aluminum double-hung and fixed windows provided a complementary solution, incorporating insulated glazing and custom low-profile exterior trim.
The project illustrates an important distinction in historic building work: window replacement is not simply a matter of selecting a product that fits an opening.
Material selection, sightlines, profiles, finishes, and installation details all contribute to how new window assemblies integrate into an existing structure.
Our approach focused on preserving the building’s established architectural identity while accommodating the performance expectations of a modern residential property.
Respecting the past without compromising the future.
